The opening of the specialties computer maintenance and industrial computing and automation is conditional on the construction and equipping of the laboratories.

What happens next

This provisional authorization is to be regularised by an arrêté, following the work of the Commission Nationale de l'Enseignement Supérieur Privé (CNESP), after verification of conformity and payment of the applicable fees.

Scope
The extension of fields and the opening of an annex campus at Yaoundé — quartier Ahala, behind Santa Lucia — for Bolo Institute of Technology, which remains based at Deido, Douala 1er. For the HND cycle the letter names Field 1, Computer Engineering, in five specialties: computer engineering; computer maintenance; industrial computing and automation; computer graphics and web design; e-commerce and digital marketing.

Granted subject to conditions

For the Bachelor and Master cycles, the letter states that their opening is conditional on the finalisation of framework agreements (accords-cadres) and specific conventions duly signed with one or more national or international universities.

What happens next

This authorization is to be regularised by arrêtés, after payment of the applicable fees, in accordance with joint decision N°2705/MINFI/MINESUP of 17 November 2015, before the Commission Nationale de l'Enseignement Supérieur Privé (CNESP).

Bachelor's and Master's pathways

In its correspondence of 13 August 2024, the Ministry of Higher Education addressed the opening of Bachelor's and Master's cycles at BOLO Institute of Technology and named the disciplines they would cover. The letter makes their opening conditional, and those conditions have still to be met.

Seven disciplines, listed across both cycles. The correspondence does not pair a discipline with a cycle, award a degree title, or set a curriculum, and no programme is open for admission.

The Ministry's condition, in its own terms

For the Bachelor and Master cycles, the letter states that their opening is conditional on the finalisation of framework agreements (accords-cadres) and specific conventions duly signed with one or more national or international universities.

BOLO IT has not published any such agreement, so no Bachelor's or Master's programme is accredited, approved to open, or accepting admissions. This page will say so the day that changes, and not before.

These are distinct statements with distinct effects. Read quickly they collapse into the single word “authorized”, which is more than the Ministry has written.

  1. Provisional institutional authorization

    The 2023 letter agrees to the creation and opening of the institute at Deido, Douala, for the HND cycle in Computer Engineering.
